Welcome!

Month of May

During the month of May we give special attention to our devotion to Mary, the Mother of God.

1) Praying the Rosary daily is a highly recommended devotion. In our parish the Rosary is prayed publicly each morning throughout the year at 8:30 am (Mondays through Saturdays) before the 9:00 am Mass.

2) Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help & Prayer Intentions
The Icon is permanently enshrined in the alcove to the right of the Altar. The Memorial Book is present before the Icon. Baskets and Prayer Intention slips are also available. You are welcome to write your prayer intentions on the slips and place the slips in the baskets. At each weekend Mass in the month of May, your prayer intentions will be remembered in the General Intercessions.

3) Marian Service and Candlelight Procession
Monday, May 22, at 7:00 pm in the Church.
This Prayer Service will include: Praying the rosary together, singing inspiring hymns, brief homily, and Candlelight Procession. Your Prayer Intentions will be carried in procession and be presented before the Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help.

Marian Guild News
The Marian Guild will conduct a Flea Market on Saturday, May 20th, in the Parish Center, from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Rent a table for $15.00, or two tables for $25.00. Call: Joan Pruzinsky at 377-5440, or Sue Bero at 377-0547.

Pastoral Council: Recruiting New Members
The purpose of the Pastoral Council is to provide advice and assistance to the pastor in the pastoral activity of the parish. The council shall exercise this function in a collaborative and consultative manner. The pastor shall consult the Pastoral Council in all matters of importance for the pastoral activity of the parish. At this time we need to recruit ten new members for the Pastoral Council: Five members for a three-year term, and five members for a two-year term. Monsignor Schultz will interview each applicant and explain the role of a Pastoral Council Member. Please consider applying for membership in order to be of help to the pastor and for the good of the parish.

Use of Parish Facilities and Equipment
We do not rent out our facilities in order to avoid insurance problems and to comply with the Safe Environment Policy. Also, we do not loan tables, chairs or any equipment for private use elsewhere.

Why is it important that all parishioners are registered in our Parish Census?
Many times parishioners request letters of recommendation for educational or employment purposes, as well as Sponsor Certificates to be sponsors at Baptism or Confirmation, and other special needs. It is difficult for the Pastor to fulfill these requests, when you are not registered in our Parish Census. The Parish Census also helps the pastor and staff to plan pastoral activities. Please be sure that you are registered adequately in our census files. Call the Parish Office at 377-0928. (NB – If you receive our parish mailings you are registered).

Also, don't forget
When you are admitted to the hospital, remember to tell the Admittance Office at the hospital that you belong to Our Lady of Grace Parish. If the sick person being admitted cannot articulate this information, a family member should do so. With the recent confidentiality laws in place this is the only means we have to know who is Catholic and with what parish the sick person is affiliated. This is important for the parish clergy making visits to our parishioners at the hospital.

Are You Planning to Change Your Address?
Please notify the Parish Office so that we may alter your census information and our mailing list. Thank you.
