PARISH NEWS
Attention “Retired” Altar Servers
We ask that any altar server who has “retired” from serving at Mass
to please, return your alb to the Sacristy or the Parish Office. Each
alb costs the parish $85.00. Also, if you have been Confirmed, consider
being trained to serve as a Lector or Extraordinary Minister of the
Eucharist. If you are interested, see Monsignor Schultz or Deacon Rob.
Novena in Honor of Our Mother of Perpetual
Help
This Monday evening Novena will take place throughout the summer months.
The Novena is cancelled only if a Holy Day Mass must be celebrated or
when Monday is a holiday. Cancellations will always be printed in this
bulletin and posted on our website: www.olgstratford.com.
Vacation Time
Vacation Time provides the opportunity for refreshing ourselves, by
reducing some daily responsibilities, and allowing more time to enjoy
family and friends. Vacation can help us adjust our priorities and refine
our goals in life. We can keep Christ present in our lives while we
are on vacation, by attending Mass each weekend and by daily prayer.

must be between the ages of 31 and 60. Applicants should be men of faith
and of good character; and, they must be disposed and willing to give
the required time and effort to the Program. Single and married men
may apply. Applications may be submitted from now to August 31, 2010.
If you feel the Lord is calling you to the Diaconate, please discuss
the matter with Monsignor Schultz. For more information, contact Deacon

416-1451.

who are serving in the military in Iraq or Afghanistan.
A list of names is posted by the Tabernacle. Please remember these service
men and women in your prayers. To add a name to the list, fill out the
form available, and return the completed form to the Parish Office via
collection basket, mail or visit.
Parish Memorial Fund & Memorial Book
Our Memorial Fund has been a success, and assists the parish in purchasing
needed items for our liturgies, and to support Catholic Charitable Works.
Donations to the Memorial Fund may be made at any time. Call or come
to the Parish Office. You may give donations “In Memory of” a deceased
loved one or friend, or, “In Honor of” a living loved one or friend.
You may also request donations for the Memorial Fund in the printed
Obituary for a recently deceased person. The names of the people, in
whose Memory or in Honor the donations are given, are inscribed once
a year in January, in the Memorial Book. This Memorial Book is left
before the Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, which is on display
in the alcove to the right of the altar. On the Feast of the Presentation
of the Lord (February 2nd), a Mass is celebrated for all those listed
in our Memorial Book.
Electronic Fund Transfers (EFT's)
This service offers our parishioners the opportunity to have their donations
electronically debited from their checking account or charged to a credit
card instead of hand-writing a check or making an extra trip to the
bank for cash. Many parishioners have signed on to this program and
find it a great convenience for them. We accept Mastercard, Visa, American
Express or Discover credit cards. Donation dates are the 1st, 5th, 10th,
15th, 20th or 25th of the month. Payment schedules are flexible (i.e.
once a month, twice a month, up to six times a month).
Anyone interested in joining this program needs to fill
out an application for the EFT Program. Once the application is submitted,
the parishioner will receive a confirmation from the parish office of
acceptance to the program. Applications are located in the bulletin
racks of the church or you may call the parish office (377-0928) and
one will be mailed to you. Once enrolled in the program, your name will
be removed from the monthly offertory envelope mailing list.
