Dear Friends,
As we have come to the end of the fiscal year for the parish, I have discouraging information to share with you about our parish finances. Our Sunday offertory collection is down $40,000.00! I have reviewed the giving patterns of our parishioners and found serious deficiencies. In supporting our parish, we asked in 2015 for each parish household to donate a weekly average of $18.00 a week. We thank those parishioners who are making their commitment to the parish.

Facts about the parish deficit!!

  1. Our parish has lost 148 families during the pandemic! People have passed, others have moved to be with family, others have entered assisted living facilities.
  2. People are giving inconsistently; they are not coming to mass. Weekly donors have become monthly donors that are giving less. An example: If you gave $10.00 a week in 2001 and are giving the same $10.00 donation, your donation is worth >$4.00 a week in 2022.
  3. The cost of running the parish continues to increase. An example: the “Communion Hosts” have risen in cost 25% and add the shipping and handling costs the price has risen 42%.

I will be sharing more information as the weeks go on. In the short term a fix is asking each household to increase their weekly donation by $2.00 or more! I ask your continued support of Our Lady of Grace Parish.

Peace,

Msgr. Ryan

Dear Friends,
We would like to ask all our parishioners to become a “welcoming committee” for our parish. Please take an extra bulletin with you on the next weekends. Speak to your neighbors about coming and praying with us at Our lady of Grace. Many changes have occurred during pandemic. People have been disconnected from places and services. Will you take the time to invite someone back to church?

Peace,

Msgr. Ryan

Dear Friends,

I have been contacted by several parishioners, who stated their check donation to the Annual Bishop’s Appeal had not been cashed. May I suggest you check your bank statements! If your donation was not cashed, please contact the parish office (203-377- 0928 x113), and we will verify our ABA donation list. Thank you for your support!

Peace,

Msgr. Ryan

Dear Friends,

On behalf of our parish staff and myself, we would like to ask God’s blessings upon the Fathers of our parish. We will be having a special blessing for you at Mass. We ask the parishioners to join us in prayer for all our fathers who have gone home to the Lord.

Dear Friends,

We need your assistance in making our goal in the 2022 Annual Bishop’s Appeal. The appeal has sent the brochure and appeal letters over the past couple of months, and we thank the 177 parish households who have made their gifts. We have reached 80% of our goal and ask your generosity for the parish to meet its
goal.
Your support is needed to meet the goal of the appeal for charitable work, for educational ministries, and to support retired priests and seminarians. Each one of these ministries touch the lives of people within our parish and it is through your prayer and charity that many ministries are sustained. You can find the contribution envelopes for the appeal at the doors of our church. You can make your gift online by going to our parish website at www.olgstratford.com. Help us make our goal by June 30th! Please make your donation today!

Peace,

Msgr. Ryan
