Dear Friends,

As we come closer to the prayerful holy days of Palm Sunday, the Triduum, & Easter, I ask you to take time to contemplate the mystery of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus. If we can adopt the journey of Christ as our way of life, we will not lose hope, and move away from the tempations of life that lead us astray.

Prepare this week!

Dear Friends,

We are only a few weeks away from Palm Sunday, Holy Week and Easter. We hope that you will plan to join us. On Palm Sunday we will bless palms at each Mass and there will be the reading of the Lord’s Passion at each Mass. Palms will be distributed to our homebound parishioners. After 1:00 pm on Palm Sunday, palms will be outside the parish garage.

On Holy Thursday, we will celebrate The Lord’s Supper at 7:30 pm. We will wash the hands of six of our parishioners, and we will hold a solemn procession from the Church to Madonna Hall. The Altar of Repose will be open after Mass until 10:00 pm.

On Good Friday, the Knights of Columbus will lead the outdoor Stations at 1:00 pm. Come join the Knights in walking the Cross with Jesus. The Passion of the Lord will be held at 3:00 pm. We will have the reading of the Passion of the Lord, the Veneration of the Cross, and Holy Communion.

On Holy Saturday, we will have the “Blessing of the Easter Food” at noon in the Church.

We will celebrate the Easter Vigil at 7:30 pm. Please join us for the Celebration of Light and the Blessing of the Easter water. The vigil will not include any candidates for Baptism this year.

Easter Masses will be at 8:00 am and noon.

Peace,
Msgr. Ryan

Dear Friends,

On the weekend of March 26/27, our parish will be conducting a special presentation on the 2022 Bishop’s Annual Appeal. We will have a speaker from a Diocesan Ministry. We will hold our annual “in-Pew Weekend” which will ask your financial support for the works of the ministries and services of the Diocese. We ask your support!

Dear Friends,

I know that many of you know of my vision problem with my eyes. The time has come for me to have surgery on my eyes to repair a cornea problem. The surgery is set for May 5th. There will be a period of recovery and healing. I ask your prayers. I ask you to pray to St. Lucy!

Peace,

Dear Friends,

In recent days as the number of Covid-19 cases have been decreasing, I have been in conversation with parishioners who wish to return to ministry. Over the past two years many people and programs stopped because of the virus and the fear of becoming infected. In looking at steps that are needed to renew our parish life, we all need to commit ourselves to “A Safe environment, and Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults”. Every parish volunteer must complete the training, background check, and review the Diocesan handbook.

I have asked Denise Bartelson to create a process where you can check your status as people return to ministry.
