Dear Friends,

  • This weekend the Bishop’s Appeal begins here at Our Lady of Grace Parish and throughout the Diocese of Bridgeport. In 2023, the Appeal will invest in initiatives that accomplish the following for all people in Fairfield County:
    • Teaching and Preaching the Gospel
    • Serving Our Community
    • Together in Faith, (programs and ministries for everyone)
  • As your Pastor, I want to let you know that I am in complete support of the Appeal, and I am asking that you join with me to do everything we can to make the Bishop’s Appeal successful in our parish. I am counting on you, members of our parish family, to participate sacrificially in this vital appeal for the good of the Diocese of Bridgeport and its ability to address urgent needs and build new ways to advance our mission as the Body of Christ in Fairfield County.
  • Our goal for the 2023 Annual Bishop’s Appeal is $67,800.00. Thank you for your support and generosity.

Dear Friends,
John Moran was a member of our parish for many years. Many of you will remember him and his mother, who came to our Saturday 4pm Mass. He passed away in October of 2021. The parish has received a generous bequest from his estate.

Please remember John Moran in your prayers. I will share with you further information in the next weeks.

Peace,

Msgr. Ryan

Dear Friends,

In order to continue our diocesan preparations to inaugurate a new vision of evangelizing catechesis, the Bishop will be hosting our local parish leaders to a series of meetings in 2023. More specifically, the purpose of these meetings is twofold:

1. To offer a comprehensive presentation of the challenges we face in passing on the faith to our youth and young adults, to offer the vision of evangelizing catechesis as our response to those challenges and to outline their respective roles in implementing this new vision.

2. To offer updates regarding ongoing or new initiatives that directly impact their particular service on behalf of the people of your parish.

We remind our parish leadership to make their reservations to attend the Bishop’s workshop.

Peace,

Msgr. Ryan

Dear Friends,

This weekend as a parish, we celebrate an important tradition. On The Feast of the Epiphany the Three Wise Men open our hearts to Jesus by their Gifts. That same revelation of the Birth of Christ can descend on our home, by using the “Blessing of Homes” to begin the new year.

Please pick up as you leave church a bottle of Holy Water, and the packet with the prayer and a piece a blessed chalk. Sign the doorpost with the formula for 2023.

God Bless,

Msgr. Ryan
