Dear Friends,

In recent days as the number of Covid-19 cases have been decreasing, I have been in conversation with parishioners who wish to return to ministry. Over the past two years many people and programs stopped because of the virus and the fear of becoming infected. In looking at steps that are needed to renew our parish life, we all need to commit ourselves to “A Safe environment, and Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults”. Every parish volunteer must complete the training, background check, and review the Diocesan handbook.

I have asked Denise Bartelson to create a process where you can check your status as people return to ministry.

Dear Friends,

Last fall Pope Francis called the Church into a Synod process. The process asked us to journey together and “listen”. We are to invite and grow the church!

On the weekend of March 12/13, we will hold listening sessions after each mass. You will find some reflection questions later in the bulletin. We hope you will join us. We hope to gather your statements and create a parish document that will be shared in the process. I will share more information with you next weekend.

Peace,

Msgr. Ryan

Dear Friends,

We begin our Lenten journey on Wednesday March 2. Our schedule for the distribution of ashes will be:

9:00 am Mass with Ashes
12:00 Noon Prayer service with Ashes
6:30 pm Prayer Service (Family Service)

All Are Welcome!

We will provide our parishioners with a Lenten reminder for their journey. You may choose a pin to be worn for Lent, or a prayer card which you may carry in your pocket as a reminder!  We will have a choice of three daily meditation books available in our Church book racks. The books will be available on Ash Wednesday.

To assist with Lenten Almsgiving we will be participating in the Catholic Charities “Loaves and Fishes”. Your donation will help feed the people served by our Catholic charities. We will also be participating in the CRS “Rice Bowl Project”.

We will also have Stations of the Cross. The schedule will be (TBD).

May we walk together in Lenten prayer, and sacrifice!

Dear Friends,

Sunday February 13th is World Marriage Day. Please ask God’s Blessings upon married couples. Here is a prayer to say for married couple.

Almighty and eternal God,
You blessed the union of married couples
So that they might reflect the union of Christ with his Church: look with kindness on them,
And strengthen their bond of peace so that, with their children, they may always rejoice in the gift of your blessing. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Peace,

Msgr. Ryan

Dear Friends,

Last weekend, I was suppose to introduce to you the kick-off for the 2022 Bishop’s Annual Appeal. The snowstorm interrupted my announcement and I ask you to watch for appeal information you will soon be receiving by mail. The theme of the Appeal is “A Bridge Home’. The Appeal video by Bishop Caggiano is on our parish website, and I invite you to listen to his powerful message.
The Appeal will invest in the following initiatives:
To Teach and Preach the Gospel
Building “Bridges of Faith’ and Serving the Poor
Building communities of Faith.
Please pray for the success of the Appeal!
