Dear Friends,
During the summer, I have been reviewing many aspects of the parish. Last weekend the Gospel of Luke speaks about Jesus setting the world ablaze! The numbers I am seeing speak of a people that have moved away from the
Lord and have forgotten the practice of the faith. In the years prior to the pandemic, we would see 600 people at weekend masses, since returning to church we see about 250 in church on the weekend. The Mass and the reception of the Eucharist is central to our faith. How do we challenge people to return? I will be asking our morning rosary group to add to their intentions, a prayer for the return of people to the practice of Mass and Holy Communion! In the middle of September, I will ask you to join me in Prayer in Adoration before the Blessed Sacrament! We will have adoration on Wednesday from 9:30am to noon!
Parish Finances – I need to share with you another challenge for our parish finances. The parish center classroom circulator has failed. This system controls the heat in the classroom area and will need to be repaired, or replaced. The system is the original system and parts are not available. We are having the boiler system inspected this week. I will keep you informed!
Peace,
Msgr. Ryan
